Ashmont Farmer's Market Opens, Jul. 8
The Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers’ Market returns for its third season on Friday, July 8, at the Ashmont Station Plaza. The island sounds of Pan United Steel Orchestra, a Boston-based, "progressive" group of drummers, will welcome the market, which runs every Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. through mid-October and features the fresh and local produce of Massachusetts farmers. Spring Brook Farm from Littleton, MA and Langwater Farm from North Easton, MA, are both returning from last year. Cedar Grove Gardens will once again offer fresh flowers, plants, and other gardening items; Dot2Dot Café will have a variety of baked goods; and members of the Dorchester Arts Collaborative will participate on a rotating schedule. The market accepts SNAP/Food Stamp benefits, WIC, and Senior Nutrition coupons. Also, SNAP shoppers can get up to $20 worth of produce at half price through the Boston Bounty Bucks program. Organized by St. Mark's Area Main Street. Info: email@example.com or 617-825-3846.
