Position Summary:

Daily Table is looking for an individual to manage the labeling of its prepared food. He or she will work closely with the kitchen staff to record recipes and translate ingredients through ESHA (a nutrition software system) to labels and packaging.  This role is critical in the store’s operation, ensuring that the prepared food meets nutrition and regulatory standards. It is core to the mission of Daily Table, providing accurate information so that customers are aware of the nutrition content of the food that they purchase.

The ideal candidate will share the vision of the organization and have a passion for its mission. He or she must pay great attention to detail and accuracy, with accountability for his or her work. Daily Table has a very collaborative work environment and requires extraordinary commitment and flexibility of its staff. Though label making is the primary responsibility of this employee, we ask that all employees be team players and take on other tasks if asked.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create procedures with kitchen staff for transferring recipe information in a timely manner.
• Input ingredients in ESHA with care and accuracy (Training to learn the ESHA software will be provided in orientation).
• Develop a process for checking accuracy of labels.
• Name products to reflect ingredients and creativity to market the product.
• Print labels for products in quantities needed.
• Have a strong belief in the potential of Daily Table and understand the need of an affordable, healthy food option in the urban market.
