Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day | June 29

Saturday, June 29: 9:00AM to 2:00PM
Location: West Roxbury Public Works Yard, 315 Gardner St, West Roxbury (near Home Depot and Millennium Park.)

Latex or Acrylic (water-based) paints are no longer accepted at hazardous waste days.  They are not hazardous and can be safely disposed of in your trash. Boston's trash is incenerated in waste-to-energy facilities.

To dispose of water-based paints, please let the paint dry out completely and put the dried paint in with your regular trash. To accelerate drying process, use kitty litter or a paint-drying product that you can buy at a hardware store.

Residents may bring up to 50 pounds of products labeled toxic, flammable, reactive, corrosive, or poisonous, such as: oil-based paint, motor oil, pesticides, solvents, glues, bleach or ammonia-based cleaners, weed killers, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, car batteries, used motor oil, tires, and propane tanks. Materials will be safely recycled or disposed of free of charge.

No commercial waste will be accepted. Proof of Boston residency required!
