VIN Etching Program Oct. 29
On October 29, the Boston Police Department District C-11, in conjunction with the Savin Hill Historical Advisers, and the Governor's Auto Theft Task Force will sponsor an auto theft prevention Program called VIN Etching. The process, which takes approximately 5-10 minutes, etches the V.I.N. (Vehicle Identification Number) of your vehicle into all the glass windows of your vehicle by using a computer generated stencil and a glass reactive acid treatment. This provides a visible deterrent to theft and can be good for a discount of up to 15% off on your comprehensive auto insurance!
The event will be held at Peter's Towing, 150 Freeport Street, Dorchester, MA from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In order to participate, you will need:
1. A vehicle with valid registration,
2. $10.00 cash, paid to the Auto Theft Strike Force to defray the cost of materials.
3. A valid license to operate the motor vehicle in your possesion.
If you have any questions about the event, contact Peter McNamera by email or at 617.343.4524.
