Bright Beginning 4 Kidz |Jan. 29, 2018

Interested in volunteering at a day care to read to young children and facilitate arts and crafts activities?

Sensitive and campassionate individuals are encourage to join as children have been exposed to trauma. 

Ideal Start Date: Febuary 5th, 2018

Length of Commitment: Two days per week (1 hour per session)

Volunteers Needed at Horizons for Homeless Children | April 11, 2018

Picture: 

Become a superhero to homeless children living in shelters in Dorchester. Volunteer just 2 hours a week with Horizons for Homeless Children, and you can make a difference in their lives just by playing with them. Shifts available Monday-Thursday 6-8pm.

Hours: 2hrs per week

Start Dates: April 26th and May 19th

Location: Volunteers will be placed in various locations within Dorchester

 

An initial training and a commitment of two hours a week for six months are required.

Gen2Gen volunteer recognition event | March 20, 2017

Picture: 

Gen2Gen is a national campaign to help children by connecting older people with the young. Their goal is to help young people in the Boston area thrive by engaging an untapped resource of older adults in volunteer and paid roles. Join Gen2Gen at the BCYF Grove Hall senior center to recognize community volunteers and to learn about paid, stipend and volunteer opportunities with our partner organizations, who are youth serving non-profits in your community, so you can also help kids thrive.

Playworks volunteers | 2017

Playworks seek volunteers from the age 50+Generation to work with children ages 5-12 as an Assistant Recess Coach in our Dorchester/Roxbury partner schools.

 

Volunteers must be able to:

  • Commit to mid-day school recess
  • Commit to volunteering at least once a week
  • Commit to volunteering for the bulk of the school year

 

By becoming a Playworks volunteer, you will become:

  • A vital member of a school’s recess team by assisting with recess games
  • Act as an informal role model or “grandparent figure” to children ages 5-12
  • Part of a national movement where adults across the country are using recess as a way to make a positive impact on the lives of children and promote healthy relationships

Daily Table is looking for volunteers to work with the Daily Table team. The ideal candidates will share the vision of the organization and have a passion for its mission. Daily Table has a very collaborative work environment; we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the extraordinary commitment and flexibility of our staff. We are looking for individuals who can adapt to a changing environment and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Registration Volunteers needed at Codman Square Health Center!

Volunteers needed in Registration Department of Codman Square Health Center

Location: 637 Washington Street, Dorchester MA 02124

Start date: ASAP

Length of commitment: 3-6 months

Hours/week: 20-30, It could be between 3p and 8p, Monday to Friday,  based on the total hours the volunteer is willing to volunteer, per week.  Maybe some Saturdays, if the volunteer is available.

Description of volunteer role: Volunteers need to be computer savvy and understand customer service and how to handle patient navigation, with attention to details. The assignment will be reception desk check-in, checking for MassHealth QC Eligibility, and helping patients to their assigned department/medical office.
