Taste the Notes: An Evening of Elegance and Jazz | June 7

The Young Professionals Network of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (YPN-ULEM) is proud to present the Fourth Annual Evening of Elegance & Jazz! The event will take place on June 7 from 7pm to midnight at the Boston Winery (26 Ericsson Street in Dorchester). This signature fundraising event is an opporunity to raise money for essential professional and social programming. Fenway for the Fallen | June 6

Book Club & Open Mic | May 29 and 30

Two exciting events are taking place at the Dot2Dot on May 29 and May 30!

On May 29 at 6:30pm, a book discussion of The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer will be hosted at Dot2Dot. Then, sit down for dinner at 7pm!

On May 30 at 6pm, an Open Mic will be hosted by the Boston School of Music Arts. Spoken word, comedy, mimes, and more! Dinner and music will then start at 7pm. A $10

Bloomfield Gardens Ribbon Cutting Ceremony | May 31

VietAID will have a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Saturday May 31 at 9am. The ceremony will take place at 455 Geneva Avenue in Dorchester. Bloomfield Gardens is a new construction building in Fields Corner that is changing the face of Dorchester's busiest neighborhood. Located steps away from the newly renovated Fields Corner T stop, it provides 27 workforce affordable rental housing units with easy access to public transportation. The $10.6M dollar project was funded by public sources that include the City of Boston, the State's Department of Housing and Community Development, and by tax credit equity provided by the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation. Dorchester Day Parade | June 1

The 110th Dorchester Day Parade will take place on Sunday, June 1! Each year, the parade commences on the first Sunday in June. The parade starts at 1pm in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street and Dorchester Avenue. It will then travel along Dorchester Ave to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Ave. The parade route is 3.2 miles. Chief Marshal and the parade committee are proud to announce that the theme for the parade this year is "A Salute to the First Responders!"

Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Park | July 15 to Aug 5

On every Tuesday from July 15 to August 5, free concerts will take place at 11am between the White Stadium and the Giraffe Entrance to the Zoo. Your kids won't want to sit still! So get up and dance to music including Hip-Hop, Step, Michael Jackson and more! Great for summer camps, families and child care programs also! Bring picnic lunches and spend the day playing in the park.
