Mayor Menino's Coffee Hours & Park Opening Celebrations | June 11

Beginning in early May, Mayor Menino will be making stops all over Boston's neighborhoods during "Coffee Hours and Park Opening Celebrations". Monday, June 11 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM the Mayor presides over the Park Opening Celebration at the Rev. Loesch Family Park.

"Race to Nowhere" | May 11

Here's a chance to see an important documentary about the education of our nation’s youth AND make a charitable donation to a very good cause at the same time.  The UMass Boston Early Learning Center is hosting a screening of the film,  “Race to Nowhere” at UMass Boston on Friday, May 11, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Lipke Auditorium in the Science Building, 100 Morrissey Boulevard. 

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 online HERE or for $15 at the door.  Half the cost of each ticket will go directly to the UMass Boston Early Learning Center to fund quality early childhood programming.

The Pop-Up Project: Synonym for Change | May 4

On Friday, May 4th from 6-9PM, UMass Boston's Trotter Institute, UMass Boston's Art Department, and Upham's Corner Main Street present...The Pop-Up Project: Synonym for Change

The event, generously underwritten by UMass Boston's Trotter Institute, will showcase 13 UMass Boston Art Department capstone students as they showcase their art in a vacant storefront at 21 Stoughton Street. The showcase will be preceded by a reception with locally-bought food/drinks and networking at the UCMS office (545 Columbia Road) as well as a vacant storefront next door at 543 Columbia Road.
