Jazz Fest with a Taste of the Caribbean @ Strand Theater | July 26

The Boston Foundation is partnering with the Berklee College of Music Office of Community Affairs and Campus Engagement to help revitalize arts and ethnic culture in Dorchester’s Uphams Corner.

Among the activities produced by Berklee will be a concert of jazz and Caribbean music on Friday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Strand Theater, located at 543 Columbia Road in Dorchester. The concert is free.  >> Read More

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day | June 29

Saturday, June 29: 9:00AM to 2:00PM  
Location: West Roxbury Public Works Yard, 315 Gardner St, West Roxbury (near Home Depot and Millennium Park.)

Latex or Acrylic (water-based) paints are no longer accepted at hazardous waste days.  They are not hazardous and can be safely disposed of in your trash. Boston's trash is incenerated in waste-to-energy facilities.

To dispose of water-based paints, please let the paint dry out completely and put the dried paint in with your regular trash. To accelerate drying process, use kitty litter or a paint-drying product that you can buy at a hardware store. >> Read More
