Join the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation at the Jermaine Goffigan Peace and Healing Park, Sun 5/26, 2-6pm, to memorialize our youth lost to violence.

The mission of The Jermaine Goffigan Peace and Healing Park is to remember our children in the Boston community who have died before their time. The Park will provide a safe space to commemorate these lives through facilitating a community healing process.

The Dorchester Descendants 2013 Celebration Schedule:
Friday, June 21, 5-7 pm:  reception at The Commonwealth Museum Columbia Point, Hors d'oeuvres & soft drinks.
Saturday, June 22:
@ 10-11 am: Talk about midwifery at the William Clapp House, 195 Boston Street, Dorchester. By Patti Violette, Executive Director of the Shirley-Eustis House in Roxbury.
Participants experience how one learned the skills and abilities required to become a midwife (by identifying medicinal plants and preparing simple remedies).

The "Making Planning Processes Public" pop-up exhibit aims to do just that, as Upham's Corner is slated for multiple types of investment and redevelopment. This interactive exhibit is another chance to put "creative placemaking" in the hands of community members and to use the skills and creativity of local artists to invite residents deeper into the planning processes.
