Lowell Lecture Series: Nell Irvin Painter @ BPL

Nell Irvin Painter will be giving a lecture as part of the 2011-2012 Lowell Lecture Series at the Rabb Lecture Hall in the Central Boston Public Library. The lecture will be held on December 15, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Nell Irvin Painter, a graduate of Harvard University, went on to become the Edwards Professor Emeritus of American History at Princeton University and directed the program in African-American Studies from 1997 to 2000. She has written extensively about the American South, and is the author of seven books and many articles. The theme of the 2011 - 2012 Lowell Lecture series is "Remembering the Civil War." The event is part of the Boston Public Library's commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. The Copley Square Branch of the BPL is located at 700 Boylston Street in Copley Square.
