Jan. 2011 Business of the Month

In an effort to support local business, especially those businesses that give to the Dorchester community, MyDorchester features a Business of the Month. Businesses are selected based on three criteria: contribution to the Dorchester community, quality of service/product, and being locally owned in Dorchester.

Ever crave sweet brioche French toast on a Sunday morning, or perhaps goat cheese and spinach quiche for lunch? How about homemade cuisine, made from scratch with the best ingredients, brought to you by a London-trained chef and her marvelous staff? You can have all this and more right here in Dorchester, at Dot2Dot Café!

The menu is full of delectable choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unbeatable brunch and exquisite pastries have rounded out the offerings of this locally owned and operated cafe since it opened in 2008. From warm Americana favorites to mouth-watering dishes like stuffed and braised banana chilies and vanilla pannacotta with raspberry coulis, you are sure to find a favorite. The menu also includes delicious vegan options like scrambled tofu with roasted vegetables or the humus and roasted vegetable sandwich.

Check the website to scope out the menu for daily updates – it’s never the same old thing at Dot2Dot! In addition to the evolving but dependably delicious menu, Dot2Dot is known for their support of the Dorchester community. The café serves as a venue for the exhibitions of local artists and for the last year, the café has featured the live performances of local musical artists and groups. But don’t just come and watch, get involved with the many other offerings of Dot2Dot – join the book club, knitting club, perform at an open mic or poetry slam. The café is a place for the community to gather to eat delightful food and enjoy one another, or as the owner, Karen Henry-Garrett, puts it, “all the talented people at our doorstep.”

Karen also encourages the community to use the space for any other type of event. Dot2Dot is for hire and available for events, catering, meetings, parties, etc.

Scrumptious, homemade dishes and a welcoming place for the community to come and share - what more could we ask of the Dot2Dot Café? Only to let us make it the January 2011 Business of the Month!

Hungry for More? You can contact Dot2Dot by calling them at 617-436-2368, or emailing dot2dotmanager@gmail.com. Or, check Dot2Dot Café’s website for a complete list of upcoming events and detailed menu.
