and in some after school and Saturday morning programs for one hour (or more)
each week. Opportunities are available in all grades, K-12, in the areas of
math and literacy. During the application process, we provide training in
mentoring and tutoring, as well as a personal interview and a reference check

The Coat Drive, which has been running since the beginning of September, is set to end on October 10th. That means only eight days are left to come to the rescue of a child who will otherwise go cold this winter. Donations extend to all new and gently-used children's winter coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves.

conference will focus on building the skills of OST programs to include
children and youth with physical and intellectual disabilities through
sharing of best practices, workshops, and panel discussions. A resource
area will be available to companies and organizations providing
services and products to youth-serving agencies and/or
disability-related services. Attendees can explore the exhibitors'
various offerings, collect business cards & materials, and learn
ways in which their efforts can be supported in the community.

Exhibiting will provide companies and organizations access on
conference day to over 200 out-of-school time professionals. Exhibiting
at the "All Means All" Conference will help showcase products and
services to our attendees while increasing a company's exposure to this
important market and the organizations with which they are connected.

The Rodman Ride for Kids is a one-day cycling tour that raises money for non-profit agencies that promote healthy, positive lives for children throughout New England.

The Big Sister Association is participating in the event for the third year in a row and the women are in need of volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to either aid cyclists along the course (food, water or first aid) or they may participate in the ride itself. Riders have the choice of cycling 3 different courses (25, 50, or 100 miles).

On Saturday at 10 AM, the Shawmut Garden is once again hosting its monthly cleansing day, where local residents are encouraged to help keep the area looking good.

We are only five months removed from the grand opening of Dorchester's first healing and medicinal garden. And as we venture away from that historic moment, it is important that we do not forget about the joy and peaceful serenity the Shawmut Garden brings to all of the station's visitors.

Registration is still open for fall classes at The Dorchester Community Center for Visual Arts (DOTART). Parents can now sign their children up for Hillary McLaughlin's Saturday morning "Tons of Tiles" class. The class runs from 10:30-12:30 each Saturday and welcomes boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 12.

Students of the class will experiment with clay by making tiles of all colors, shapes and sizes. Students will learn about glazing and their works will be preserved using a stovetop firing.

You don’t need any previous tutoring experience to participate—just a

Our volunteers work with one student during the school day
and in some after school and Saturday morning programs for one hour (or more)
each week. Opportunities are available in all grades, K-12, in the areas of
math and literacy. During the application process, we provide training in
mentoring and tutoring, as well as a personal interview and a reference check
to ensure a successful experience.

lying around in your closet or packed away in a box that is unlikely to be opened anytime soon? If you answered yes, then visit one of the nine Next Generation Children's Center locations in the Greater Boston area.

The Coat Drive, which has been running since the beginning of September, is set to end on October 10th. That means only eight days are left to come to the rescue of a child who will otherwise go cold this winter. Donations extend to all new and gently-used children's winter coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves.

this disease! By joining the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on May 16-17,
2009, you’ll be able to help thousands of men and women in the Boston

at an Introduction Meeting! Potential participants can learn everything
they need to know about the Avon Walk and how to get started on
