The Dorchester Day Celebration & Parade Committees are hosting an essay contest open to all Dorchester residents in the 6th through 10th grade. Learn about famous Dorchester residents while competing for an awesome prize!
Please fill out the registration form on the flyer and mail it with your essay to the committee chair. The entry and essay must be postmarked by March 12th to be considered for a prize. The essay must be written on either Edward Everett or Lucy Stone. Essays must be between 500-600 words for the 6th through 8th grade and 800-900 words for the 9th and 10th grade students.
Two prizes will be awarded to the winning essays that are chosen from a panel of local judges: one prize of a $500 savings bond will be awarded to a winner in the 9th-10th grade category and one to a winner in the 6th-8th grade category.
