GNA Teens Attend the LEAPS Conference!
The LEAPS Conference was a 3-day conference where youth participated in peer-led workshops on health and safety in the workplace, workplace violence prevention, worker safety, workers’ rights, sexual harassment in the workplace, youth & union organizing, and community action.
Six GNA teens attended the conference. GNA Peer Leader Chris Hoyt shares his experience:
My LEAPS Experience!
By Chris Hoyt
My experience at the LEAPS conference was a good and healthy one. We talked a lot about safety-related things in the workplace. We also talked about a lot of sexual harassment cases in the workplace.
I found it interesting when they taught us about working rights for youth and teens my age. I benefited because now I know a lot more than what I knew. We were taught how to take precautions in case we were in a work-related sticky situation.
My LEAPS experience was great. I met a lot of new people and learned a lot of new things.
