Dorchester Day happens every year on the first Sunday in June. It is to honor the establishing of Dorchester as a town of Boston and the History of the many events it provided. Come to the Dorchester Day Parade and join your community in a celebration of all things Dorchester! 

The parade starts in Lower Mills and travels along Dorchester Avenue to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue.

Dorchester Day Parade 10K Cocktails and Cash Drawing | May 22

Join us for a night of fun and help support the efforts of the Dorchester Day Parade Committee. There will be music, entertainment, delicious appetizers, and great raffle prizes!

General Admission into the event is $25. One entry in the 10K Drawing with admittance for 2 is $100. All Proceeds benefit the Dorchester Day Parade!

Dorchester Day Parade | June 1

The 110th Dorchester Day Parade will take place on Sunday, June 1! Each year, the parade commences on the first Sunday in June. The parade starts at 1pm in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street and Dorchester Avenue. It will then travel along Dorchester Ave to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Ave. The parade route is 3.2 miles. Chief Marshal and the parade committee are proud to announce that the theme for the parade this year is "A Salute to the First Responders!"

Dot Day Parade 10k Cocktails | May 23

Come to Florian Hall at 7pm on May 23 for a night of fun. Help support the efforts of the Dorchester Day Parade Committee. There will be music, entertainment, delicious appetizers and great raffle prizes! One entry in the 10K Drawing with admittance for 2 is $100. However,

Karaoke Night to Benefit Dot Day Parade | May 10

Mayor of Dorchester Candidate, Erin Murphy, is hosting a Karaoke Night at St. Brendan’s Church in Father Lane Hall, 15 Rita Rd. The event will begin at 7pm and all of the event proceeds will benefit the Dorchester Day Parade Committee. Joey McEarchern is the guest DJ and the cost of admission is $25 at the door. Dorchester Day Parade | June 2nd

Join in the for the 109th annunal Dorchester Day Parade. The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street & Dorchester Avenue and travels along Dorchester Avenue to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue.

The parade route is 3.2 miles.

Little Miss & Young Miss Dorchester 2013 | May 11 (Deadline: May 3)

 

Don't miss the Little Miss & Young Miss Dorchester Contests! The contests will take place on May 11 at 2pm in First Parish Church (10 Parish Street in Dorchester). All girls entering the contest must be: residents of Dorchester, able to participate in the Dorchester Day Parade, able to provide a copy of their birth certificate if they win or are a runner-up, attach their response to one of the offered questions and read/recite it at the day of the contest, 7-12 years old on the day of the contest. Little Miss Dorchester & Young Miss Dorchester | apply by May 3d

The Little Miss Dorchester Contest and the Young Miss Dorchester Contest are events that have been part of the annual Dorchester Day celebrations for decades. They have the shared goal of bringing girls into the annual event to have fun and build confidence in public speaking. This year the contests will both be held at the First Parish Church (10 Parish Street, Meeting House Hill, Dorchester, MA) on May 11th, 2:00 p.m.

Dorchester Chili Cook-Off | March 24

Fiesta! is the theme for this year's annual Chili Cook-Off that will take place from 3pm to 6pm at 296 Freeport Street in Dorchester. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Best of Show, Best Non-Beef, Most Creative Dish, and Best Decorations/Costumes/Spirit. Furthermore, the popular People's Choice award will earn the golden bean pot and bragging rights. Get friends, family and neighbors to attend and vote for their favorite cooks!
