Mother's Day Wildflower Walk at BNC, May 7

Share a peaceful walk with your mother, family or friends as you look for the variety of wildflowers dotting the landscape during BNC's Mother's Day Wildflower Walk. This introductory walk will touch on basic flower anatomy, the tools to identify flower families and the tricks flowers play to draw in insects. The Walk will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Erica Quigley, Teacher Naturalist, will lead the walk and search for celandine poppies, which produce bright yellow flowers, orange sap, and explosive seed pods. The cost is $3.00 for members and $5.00 for non-members, or $6.00 for member families and $10.00 for non-member families. Registration not required. >> Read More
