Haitian Heritage Discussion at IIIC | May 28

IIIC Haitian Heritage Month flyer

In recognition of Haitian Heritage Month, the IIIC will host an informal convresation on the Haitian Reunification Parole Program, the Guantanamo crisis between 1991 and 1994, and the status of Haitian American diplomacy today. There will be a short film and a panel discussion. Light refreshments will be served. *Please RSVP in advance

Black & Green Celebration | May 17

Join the Irish International Immigrant Center and the Montserrat Aspirers as they celebrate the Black and Green of Boston. Their focus for this year is One Boston: Celebrating Unity and Boston's Diversity, with Boston's first ever Chief Diversity Officer, Shaun Blugh as our speaker. Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy an arts exhibition, poetry reading, Irish and Urban dances, along with world music.

The Black and Green event has always presented an opportunity for all communities of Boston to come together for an afternoon of great food, music, cultural exchanges and thought-provoking conversations. We encourage you to bring family; friends and anyone who would be interested in participating.​

Haitian Heritage Celebration | May 28

HaitiJoin the Irish International Immigrant Center (100 Franklin Street) on May 28 from 4pm to 7pm in celebrating Haitian Heritage Month! This event emphasizes the importance of countries and cultures within our community. It will include Compa dancing lessons, Haitian-Creole language activities, Haitian trivia, and more! Black & Green Celebration | April 6

On Sunday, April 6 the Irish International Immigrant Center (IIIC) and Montserrat Aspirers will host their 20th Annual Black and Green Celebration. This event will take place at the Montserrat Aspirers Hall located at 358 Washington Street in Dorchester from 2-5 pm. 

This event was established in 1994 as a way to foster trust and build bridges between communities in Boston. It brings together many cultures for an afternoon of great food, music, and discussion. The theme of this year's event is The Faces of Change in Boston: Our Community Challenges and Improvements. The discussion will be led  by two special guests, Massachusetts State Senator, Linda Dorcena Forry a native Bostonian and first generation Haitian-American to represent the 1st Suffolk District. The other guest is author/activist Michael Patrick MacDonald, a South Boston native.  >> Read More

BCS and Clermont Chorale Perform to Support IIIC | April 5

 

The Clermont Chorale and the Boston City Singers will present an evening of world music with a special combined performance in Gaelic. The event starts at 7:30pm and is located at St. Mark's Church (1725 Dorchester Ave). This is a special event to raise funds for the Irish International Immigrant Center (IIIC). All proceeds will support legal, wellness and education services for immigrants from Ireland and all around the world. Single Ticket: $15 ; Family Ticket: $25. To purchase tickets, call 617-542-7654. Free "Active Parenting Now in 3" Sessions, June 9, 16 & 23

Dorchester Substance Abuse Coalition"Happy families aren't born... they're made one day at a time!" Parents of children ages 5 to 12 are invited to learn about parenting styles, active communication, teaching responsibility and other aspects of child-rearing while enjoying a light dinner and the company of their peers. The Dorchester Substance Abuse Coalition will host "Active Parenting Now in 3" on consecutive Thursdays in June (9, 16,and 23) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parenting sessions take place at the Neighborhood House Charter School, 21 Queen Street, Dorchester, MA and feature Susan West, Certified Active Parenting Now Trainer, and Danielle Owen, LADCH, of the Irish International Immigrant Center.
