Halloween Night Hike-Franklin Park

Saturday, Oct. 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

No flashlights allowed! Walk through spooky woods, by old stone ruins, and over hill & dale in the moonlight. Costumes and strollers discouraged. Wear sneakers or hiking shoes. Meet at Valley Gates Parking Lot midway along the main park road. (google Glen Lane & Circuit Drive, Dorchester 02120) Look for the Jack O’Lantern.

Franklin Park Walking Tour | July 2

On July 2 from 6pm to 8pm, a National Park Ranger will conduct a guided walk of Franklin Park called "Country in the City." Mom & Kid Ride | June 14

An easy-paced, off-street ride for women and kids!
11:00 Registration, bike decorating and face painting
12:00 Ride departs
1:00 Picnic and ice cream party

Lunch available for purchase at the Franklin Park Club House (cash only). Free kids' mac & cheese or hot dog with every $6 purchase. Complimentary JP Licks ice cream for all participants.

After the ride, enjoy an optional excursion to the Franklin Park Zoo -- the first 100 people to register will receive one free kids' pass to the zoo (adult ticket purchase required). Helmets required for all participants. No training wheels please! Mom and kids are welcome to invite the men in their lives.

Franklin Park Improvements | May 21

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services invite the public to an update on ongoing improvements to pathways at Franklin Park. The proposed project includes renovations to selected pathways as defined in priority setting meetings back in 2012. If you are a community enthusiast, you won't want to miss this! Halloween Night Walk | October 25

Friday, October 25th 7pm at the Valley Gates Parking Lot, Glen Road and Circuit Drive (look for giant Jack-o-lantern), Franklin Park Coalition invites the community to walk through the park on a FREE guided tour at night. No flashlights allowed, costumes are discouraged. Dress accordingly to the outdoor weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking. This event is suitable for alll ages. Be there or be SCARED...

Country in the City History Tour | October 6

Sunday, October 6th 10:00am, Join a National Olmsted Historic Site ranger for a history tour of Franklin Park. You’ll learn about the early designs and plans of Frederick Law Olmsted, renowned park architect, who built the park in the 1880s. See beautiful views, old stone ruins, and the picturesque home of migrating birds, Scarboro Pond. Meet at the Resting Place (Shattuck Picnic Grove). This event id free and is open to the public.

3rd Annual Sickle Cellebration in the Park | September 21

On Saturday, September 21st. Greater Boston Sickle Cell Disease Association will be hosting their 3rd Annual Sickle Cellebration Walk. The 5K mile Walk/ Run, HealthFair and Multicultural Festival will start at 9A.M. at 1 Circuit Drive (Franklin Park) in Dorchester, MA.

Sickle Cellebration is GBSCDA educational campaign to raise funds and educate our community about Sickle Cell Disease and Sickle Cell Trait.

ParkScience Children's Festival | August 20

The ParkScience Boston Children's Festival returns to Franklin Park on August 20 from 10am to 2pm. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department invite children to participate in this free and fun outdoor event.
