At the end of the pop-up holiday market, light the Peabody Square Holiday Tree with Santa, Mayor Marty Walsh, and other special guests on Ashmont Station Plaza. Feel free to bring an ornament to add to the ones Dot Art is helping children make to adorn the tree!

Tuesdays at Tavolo Drew O'Doherty & Kenny Chambers | June 28

Tuesdays at Tavolo is a new live music series’at Tavolo Ristorante in Dorchster (Peabody Square). The series, which kicked off in February, has picked up steam and now offers a fuller music schedule including a wide range of “living room” style concerts form solo artists of Boston outfits such as The Tarbox Ramblers, The Shods, The Neats, The Del Fuegos, Come, Unnatural Axe, Expanding Man, The Moving Targets, and more. There is no cover or age restriction.

The 8th season of the Ashmont Peabody Square Farmers Market is soon approaching.   The ribbon cutting on opening day will be at 4pm and there will be many special guests. Volunteers welcome!

Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers Market | June 26

The Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers’ Market opens on Friday, June 26, on Ashmont Station Plaza. Market hours are every Friday, from 3 to 7 p.m., through October 16.  Spring Brook Farm from Littleton, Lanni Orchards from Lunenburg, Red’s Best Seafood, Swissbakers, and Dorchester’s own Cedar Grove Gardens offer a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, seafood, baked goods, and fresh flowers, plants, and gifts. Credit/debit cards and SNAP/EBT accepted. Boston Bounty Bucks will match up to $10 of SNAP/EBT purchases each week. “Like” Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers’ Market on Facebook to keep current on vendors and special activities and events.

Peabody Square Improvement Session | June 24

In April, St. Mark's Area Main Street held a Walk Audit with Walk Boston.  Participants learned about best practices for making neighborhoods welcoming and safe for pedestrians. Then the group took a walk in and around Peabody Square to identify issues and opportunities. At the upcoming session, we will plan implementation of recommendations that arose from the Walk Audit. This session will take place at the St. Mark's Area Main Street Office (1914 Dorchester Ave) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on June 24. Please RSVP by clicking HERE.

A Service of Nine Lessons & Carols Dec. 18

The Parish of All Saints, Ashmont invites the public to A Service of Nine Lessons & Carols, sung by the Choir of Men & Boys. The event will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18th. The performance will be an exciting variety of readings and carols for the season, including works by Cleobury, Darke, Howells, Josquin des Prez, Vaughn Williams, Willan, Willcocks, and others. The parish's choir of Men & Boys follows the English cathedral choral tradition, and is one of only 30 such choirs in the United States! The Parish is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is the first chuch designed by Ralph Adams Cram. Opera at the Open Market, Sep. 16

Market

Boston Opera Collaborative presents "Opera goes to Market," a concert series celebrating the union of food and music. During September at local farmers' markets explore how opera is a part of everyday life. These concerts were made possible through funding from the Free for All Concert Fund. They will be held:

Thursday, September 15, from noon to 3 p.m., at Boston Public Market, South Station.
Friday, September 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Ashmont/Peabody Market in Dorchester.
Sunday, September 18, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Harvard Square Market in Cambridge.
