Dorchester Youth Hockey Reunion, Games and Reception | February 8

All day Saturday February 8 the Dorchester Youth Hockey will host their Reunion Fundraiser, Alumni Game and Cocktail Reception. Players, coaches, family and friends of Neponset Youth Hockey, Dorchester Lower Mills Youth Hockey and Dorchester Youth Hockey are all welcome. You don't have to play to attend reception! Round-robin games 2 -7 p.m. $75. Devine Rink Dorchester (includes playing in the game, jersey and ticket to cocktail reception.) Register online: Drafting teams on Feb 5. They are located in Boston and inviting everyone who has an interest in the sneaker culture. The venue is easy to reach by car or MBTA, the station is Savin Hill station off the red line which is a 2 minute walk from the venue. General admission is $10 and a table is $100, pay at front door. A Story We Share | February 5

Massachusetts Artists Celebrating Black History and Culture has been curated by three Boston Arts Academy students, Stacy Lafume, Rodrick Guevara and Rocky Cotard under the guidance of BAA faculty member Destiny Palmer.

Come out to explore and enjoy the art of Stephen Hamilton, Paul Goodnight, Laurence Pierce, Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper, Adam Bullock, Shaanti Williams and Ekua Holmesan.

The exhibit runs from February 1 through February 28 at the Massachusetts Archives Building, Columbia Point, Dorchester.

The public is invited to attend the exhibit opening on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 6:00 pm. Admission is free to both the exhibit and the museum. The Commonwealth Museum is open Monday - Friday from 9-5 and free parking is available.

2014 Marathon Team Kick-off Party | January 22

Wednesday, Jan. 22 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm - Celebrate with the large FPC team of 2014 Boston Marathon runners and help them get a running start for their fundraising. It’s an all-you-can-eat pizza party at Bella Luna with door prizes, raffles, and cash bar. It’s 6-9pm with pizza till 7:30pm. Bella Luna is in the Brewery in JP, 284 Amory Street.

New Year's Walk | January 4

Join Franklin Park Coalition for a winter walking tour around the golf course. Traverse the old stone bridge over a frozen pond, see the woodlands and views with leaves down, and enjoy others glad to get out of the house and walk off holiday calories. Wear walking shoes, we’ll be on a plowed path if there is snow.
