Every Thursday at 10:30am the Boston Nature Center will give children an opportunity to explore the nature around them. The children will have hands on experiences with outdoor and indoor activities. Boo-Tastic Fall Festival | October 31

What: Fun for families! Play Carnival Games! Win Prizes! Visit the Haunted House! Watch Scary Cartoons! make your own Candy Apple! All youth will receive Candy Goodie-Bags! Lots of fun for everyone! For entry, bring 1 can of food per person. The cans will later be used for a Thanksgiving Food Bag Giveaway.

The Great Pumpkins Event | October 25

Friday October 25, bring your family down to 85 Olney Street (Holland Elementary School) between the hours of 5pm-7pm to decorate pumpkins, eat delicious pizza, have refreshments and get gift bags.

Celebrate at the JFK Library | October 14

Monday October 14 at 10:30am – 11:30am, discover the culture of Mexico with Ms. Veronica Robles and her Mariachi Band while you engage in the traditional songs and folk dances. October is the Hispanic Heritage Month come out, have fun and learn about the Mexican traditions. This event will be at the JFK Library in the Stephen E. Smith Center in Dorchester MA. Irish Heritage Festival 16

Irish Heritage Festival is set to return on Columbus Day weekend to Dorchester –  There will be music, dance performances, and other events. Family and children’s activities – from rock climbing to face-painting – as well as other attractions, such as a genealogy tent and visits from Irish wolfhounds and Irish setters, also are on the 2016 schedule.

Fine Motor Fun | October 8

On Tuesday, October 8th from 5:30pm-6:30pm, Join in for A FUN FILLED Activity that will introduce you to easy activities you can engage your toddler in to help them build their fine motor skills, .at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester 1135 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester. This “Make it and Take It” Session will include a light dinner and is geared towards children ages 16 mos-3 years old.

Country in the City History Tour | October 6

Sunday, October 6th 10:00am, Join a National Olmsted Historic Site ranger for a history tour of Franklin Park. You’ll learn about the early designs and plans of Frederick Law Olmsted, renowned park architect, who built the park in the 1880s. See beautiful views, old stone ruins, and the picturesque home of migrating birds, Scarboro Pond. Meet at the Resting Place (Shattuck Picnic Grove). This event id free and is open to the public.
