Haunted Forest @ Geneva Cliffs Oct. 29

On October 29, Geneva Cliffs will become a Haunted Forest, just in time for Halloween! You will be guided on a walk full of frights, goblins and ghosts at Geneva Cliffs! There will even be a spooky but less scary path for kids! The event will take place from dusk until 8:00 p.m. Attached is a flyer for the event if you would like to spread the word. Halloween Bash @ Dorchester Y Oct. 28

On October 28th, the Dorchester YMCA will be hosting its fourth annual Costume Bash! You are sure to enjoy this Halloween event - enjoy the Haunted Train, games, tricks and treats! Participate in costume contest for a chance to win great prizes, as well! The event is FREE and open to all. It will all happen on October 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Make sure you wear a creative costume, too! Halloween @ Ashmont Grill Oct. 29

Ashmont Grill's annual Halloween Dance Party is back! A local DJ will be spinning all night with no cover charge, and guests and staff alike are encouraged to wear the zaniest costumes possible! Get there before 10:00 p.m. to try something from the fall menu. Ashmont Grill is located at 555 Talbot Avenue in Dorchester, right by the Ashmont T stop. Haunted Health Center Canned Food Drive Oct. 27

Dr. Dorchester will be taking over the GNA teen center on Thursday, October 27th, 2011. He has a sweet tooth for fun and frights, and will be hosting the Haunted Health Center Canned Food Drive! The event will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and admission is one canned good. Of course, you can bring more if you want! Baked goods and other canned food items will be on sale for donation as well. Halloween Night Prowl Oct. 28

Have a spooky night at Franklin Park! On Friday, October 28th, Franklin Park will be hosting its annual Halloween Night Prowl. See the beautiful landscape the park in darkness, and watch things get a little frightening at night. No flashlights allowed! Only the light of the moon will guide you as you search for a jack-o-lantern. Meet at Valley Gates Parking Lot, and make sure to RSVP - space is limited. Boo Bash at Strand Theater! Oct. 29

The 2011 Boo Bash is happening at the Strand Theater! It will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 1-4pm. This free event will include a haunted house, a costume party, spooky crafts, trick or treating, and a monster mash dance party! Kids ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Zoo Howl @ Franklin Park Zoo Oct. 29 - 30

On October 29th and 30th, Franklin Park Zoo will be hosting Zoo Howl! The haunted happenings at the zoo include creatures, crafts, games, a trick-or-treat trail and a Haunted Maze!

There will also be hay rides provided by Pine Meadow Farm - $2.00 per person or three for $5.00!

This year, Franklin Park Zoo is partnered with Green Halloween - a non-profit, grassroots initiative to encourage communities to celebrate healthier and more sustainable holidays, starting with Halloween. To learn more about events at Franklin Park, click here.

M.Y.H.O.O.D. Halloween Celebration, Oct. 29

M.Y.H.O.O.D. (Mentoring Youth Hold Onto Obtaining Dreams) is a nonprofit organization striving to provide a creative and educational outlet for youth trying to accomplish goals. M.Y.H.O.O.D. is sponsoring a Safe Halloween Party on October 29. The party will feature fun, games, food, and free candy. It be held at the Epiphany School at 154 Centre St. in Dorchester Center from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can find out more about the organization at www.myhoodmentors.com.
