Live Music at Dot 2 Dot Cafe

On Friday, March 7 Dot 2 Dot Cafe will host live music from Alexis Paraschos and band. This event will take place at Dot 2 Dot Cafe located at 1739 Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Alexis Paraschos and band have just released a new CD titled "Something Greater". Tickets are $20 and that includes the cover charge and tapas style plates for the evening. There will also be some special Dot 2 Dot brews being mixed throughout the night. This event is for adults 21 and older. Come enjoy some great live music and meet other Dorchester residents.

The South End Historical Society and the Boston Preservation Alliance present a fascinating musical journey as Richard Vacca, author of "The Boston Jazz Chronicles," joins us to talk about the South End's deep roots in the city's jazz history. Bach to the 21st Century | Feb 22

Aaron Larget-Caplan will perform solo and chamber music with fellow Boston Conservatory faculty members Berit Strong and Olav Chris Henriksen (guitar), Sharon Leventhal (violin) and Boston Conservatory students Nicole Parks and Farley Kelly-Masterton (violins), Faith Jones (viola) and Nora Karakousoglou (cello). The program includes four works specially written for Larget-Caplan, including two by Boston Conservatory faculty members Jim Dalton and Kevin Siegfried.

Jazz Under Glass | Feb. 24

Jazz Under Glass: A Winter Celebration and Fundraiser will take place on February 24 from 1pm to 3pm. The event will take place at the Dudley Greenhouse (11 Brook Ave, Roxbury). Ladies and Gents please come and join Dot2Dot Cafe this Friday for an evening of good food and great music, courtesy of Tolieth and Austin Marks.  Tolieth can nail any tune from gospel, soul, jazz and some very cool renditions of mainstream pop.  Look out for some very funky music, serious jazz on the keyboards and some drumming to get those toes tapping.  $5 charge on the door to go to the band.  Accessible menu, great family atmosphere so come eat, drink and boogie if the music moves you.

Landmarks Orchestra w/ Boston Lyric Opera | August 8

Join the Boston Landmarks Orchestra and the Boston Lyric Opera for Around the World in 80 Minutes. The performance will take audience members on a sweeping operatic journey. Making musical stops in France, Italy, Japan, the US, and even Sri Lanka. The performance features singers from the Boston Landmarks Orchestra and led by Music Director David Angus. "At the River" Concert | July 25
