Painters Rags @ Howard Art Project Opens Dec. 9

Howard Art Project, Dorchester's newest gallery, will be hosting an opening for their second show: Painter's Rags and Other Artists Clothing. The show asks exhibiting artists to look at their own wardrobe with the same criticality one would look at art. The opening will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The gallery is located at 1486 Dorchester Ave. in Fields Corner, and is also open on Saturdays during exhibitions from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or by appointment. The Eliot School Arts Collaborative

Holmes School Arts Program

Art is in at the Lee Academy, Holmes and Lee afterschool programs. Students have been learning about  poetry, painting, photography, and, most importantly, self-expression through the arts. As an artist, the students work together and as individuals to understand the large variety of ways to express themselves creatively.  Ms. Bridget is an artist herself. According to Bridget,"Art making around others takes trust and respect". Through the Elliot School of Fine and Applied Arts, Ms. Bridget visits these elementary school students and helps them understand the complexities and importance of being an artist for yourself. On a weekly basis, these students are producing masterpieces of their own.
