The Franklin Park Kite & Bike Festival | May 14

The 2016 Franklin Park Kite & Bike Festival, co-coordinated by the Franklin Park Coalition and Discover Roxbury. Bring a kite or buy one in the park. Ride your bike to the festival or rent a bike from Boston Bikes. Bike tours of the park, food trucks, craft vendors and more..

Discover Roxbury Jazz At The Fort | August 2nd

Sunday August 2nd at Highland Park on Fort Avenue in Roxbury's Fort Hill Neighborhood there will be a Jazz show feauturing "The Bill Pierce Collective" and Berkeley City Music All-Stars starting at 5 PM. Dont miss out on the chance to hear some live music this Sunday and have a great time listening to one of the oldest music styles today!

Jumpstart Your Writing Workshop | June 17

Discover Roxbury is partnering with Grub Street offering a writing workshop for new and practicing writers.  This class has a very clear mission: devote two hours to trying your hand at creating writing. Through a series of fun directed writing exercises, we will explore the terrain of fiction and nonfiction: mining for material, constructing characters and settings, shaping vivid dialogue, understanding point of view, and finding your voice.

Wake Up The Earth Parade & Festival | May 2

The festival is a celebration of diversity, the arrival of spring, music and culture, popular theater, visual arts, and more. The Roxbury leg of the parade is assembled at the Egleston YMCA at 10:30am. Bring your noise makers, WUTE signs, stilts, and colorful costumes and march with us to the Stoneybrook Reservation where the festival continues all day!

Wake Up The Earth Parade | May 3

On Saturday, May 3 the Wake Up The Earth Festival will take place. This event was started by Spontaneous Celebration in 1979 and brings together Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, and other areas of Boston in an annual celebration of diversity, the arrival of spring, music and culture, popular theatre, the visual arts, and more. The Parade is a commemoration of the success these communities had in opposing the construction of 1-95 along the route known as the Southwest Corridor. >> Read More
