Celebrating Black History with Music | February 12

Wednesday, February 12 between 4pm-6pm, Boston musician, Bill Lowe (trombonist and tubaist) will connect children with Black History Month through music.

Location will be at the Codman Square Branch of the Boston Public Library at 690 Washington Street Dorchester, MA.

This event is free and suitable for children ages 6-12 (with accompanying adult)

A Christmas Concert Experience | December 20

Friday December 20 at 7pm Saint Gregory's Church (2223 Dorchester Ave Dorchester, Ma) will host: A Christmas Concert Experience”

The upcoming program is more than just a concert—it is a chance to reconnect with faith.  It is their hope that folks will invite their family members, co-workers and friends to join in this event. A reception will follow in the Auditorium immediately after the concert.

"If you can only attend one event during Advent/Christmas, this is the one that you, your children and your parents will all enjoy."

3rd Annual Tree Lighting | December 4

Wednesday December 4 from 5:30 til 7:30, the Salvation Army Kroc Center (located at 650 Dudley St.) will host their 3rd Annual Tree Lighting event.

 

There will be:

                              Carol Singing with a Brass band

                              A short devotional 

                              Light refreshments

                              Ringing of the "official First Bell"

Celebrate Mexico with Veronica Robles | December 11

Celebrate Mexico with Veronica Robles, Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 3 – 4pm at the Adams Street Branch of the Boston Public Library, (690 Adams Street Dorchester)
 
Veronica Robles is a performer widely recognized as the most authentic representative of Mexican music and culture in New England. Known affectionately by fans as La Mera, Mera (The Real One), Veronica Robles will present a workshop for children to experience the Mexican culture through traditional dance, song and costume. For children ages 6 and up.

Thursday, December 5 at 6pm, The Friends of the Grove Hall Branch Library are pleased to host a holiday book sale to raise funds for library programming. Come browse a large selection of books for children, teens, and adults. All books priced at a dollar or less.

Four Corners Tree Lighting & Holiday Celebration | December 7

Saturday, December 7 between 1-4pm the Greater Four Corners Action Coalition, Four Corners Main Street & Greenwood Memorial  United Methodist Church will host their Tree lighting & Holiday Celebration.

There will be Light refreshments, live music, entertainment, fun activities the whole family will enjoy, including... A visit from SANTA!!!

Invited speakers will be Mayor Marty Walsh and other politicians
