What Can Boston Do About the Housing Crisis? | April 7

On October 20, 2014 residents across Boston filled City Council chambers and sent a clear message:
 "WE’VE HAD ENOUGH OF BEING PUSHED AROUND & PUSHED OUT!"
In this second hearing, citywide residents and housing advocates will come together to share our IDEAS AND SOLUTIONS to the housing crisis. 
What can the City of Boston do to stabilize our communities and prevent the rapid displacement of low income and communities of color?
Residents, advocates and research experts will share policy solutions & ideas to the housing crisis including:
  • Increasing protection to tenants especially for those most at risk for displacement because of rising housing costs & rents.
  • Increasing resources from development for creating & preserving affordable housing.
  • Prioritizing public land for community use & controlled by community partners.
