Walk Off The Turkey Hike | Nov 29

Join Hike4Life for their 6th Annual Post Thanksgiving Hiking Event! They are closing out 2015 with a FAMILY FRIENDLY day hike to bring this year, to a fun and healthy finale.

The Boston Nature Center gives them a safe 2-mile walk through a protected Mass Audubon habitat that is truly a hidden gem that lies between Dorchester & Mattapan. Explore the 67-acre wildlife sanctuary, take a walk on the many trails & boardwalks through meadows, fields, and woodlands to see native plants and wildlife. Visit the pond, the nature center and play some fun games along the way!

Wondering what Make the Switch is all about? You’re invited to a free Power Hour Webinar! The webinar is hosted by Mass Energy, a local nonprofit and partner in our Make the Switch to Green Electricity campaign.

The Power Hour will cover three statewide programs aimed at reducing your carbon footprint and give you the opportunity to ask questions about:

  • Make the Switch, An affordable and impactful program that allows you to easily green your home energy use
  • Mass Save, A rate-payer funded program run by the utilities that offers no-cost home energy assessments as well as rebates for energy efficient upgrades
  •  Mass Solar Connect, A new program for homeowners interested in getting solar installed. The program was created by the Mass Clean Energy Center and is being piloted by Mass Energy. The program is running until August 31.

Mass Audobon's Statewide Volunteering Day | April 25

Join us for a day of family fun as we spruce up our trails and gardens and dive into other spring cleaning projects.

We can also provide a community service verification letter for your three hours of volunteering.

Bring a picnic lunch and spend time exploring (and enjoying) the sanctuary when the morning's work is done.

Project work at the BNC includes:

  • Butterfly Garden, Nature Nook, and Surrounding Landscaped Areas;
  • Boston Food Forest and Education Garden--Spring Cleanup and Planting;
  • Trail Maintenance.
