Savin Hill Little Kids Easter Egg Hunt | March 19

Savin Hill Little Kids Easter Egg Hunt. An event for children 5 and under (siblings welcome). Special Guests...The Easter Bunny! The Bubble Guy! Baby Farm Animals!

When: Saturday, March 19 at 2:45 pm, Hunt starts at 3 pm.

Where: Savin Hill Park, Grampian Way, Dorchester MA 02125 , Gather in the tennis courts. 

**They are relying on donations, they cannot ensure peanut/tree nut free candy. If you are a parent to an allergy kid, please bring a few small pieces of candy to supplement. The Easter eggs (1500!) will be filled with stickers and different types of small candy.**

Jeannie Mack's Winter Song Fest | Feb 17

Calling all 2 – 6 year-olds. Have fun celebrating winter with Jeannie Mack. Come sing and act out songs about making snowmen, twirling around like snowflakes, sledding down hills, and drinking hot chocolate - to mention just a few. Clap along, dance, and enjoy hand play and finger play games with Jeannie – all to do with the magic of winter.

Healthworks Community Fitness hosts our Annual coat Drive on Thursday, December 11th. Women, children and men in need of coats are welcome!

We have two distribution sessions: 

Morning distribution: 10:30am-1pm

Evening distribution: 5:30pm-8pm

Books of Hope Poetry for Children | April 4

Books of Hope

April is National Poetry Month. The Fields Corner Branch of the Boston Public Library will host Books of Hope Poetry for Children. This event is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 4 from 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm. This event will take place at the Fields Corner Branch Library located at 1520 Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester. 

The event is for children ages 6-12. They can come read, recite, and perform poetry with the Books of Hope Creative Writing program. They can discover new poets and poem and express themselves in a creative and positive atmosphere. 

This event is sponsored by the Boston Public Library Foundation.

Boston Public Schools (BPS) Parent University believes that every BPS family is equipped and empowered to advocate and partner with schools to ensure every child has access to a quality education and achieves excellence in school. Parent University will be hosting workshops that provide educational resources and community support for families with children ages 3-8 to help foster learning at home. This is a 10 session workshop series and participation is free. Families will be able to learn strategies for how to foster your child's development and learning at home and in school. These sessions will include hands on activities, mini lectures and videos. This program was developed by Harvard University and is based on cutting edge brain research on children's social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Kids visit for FREE Franklin Park Zoo | January 4 & 5

Saturday and Sunday, January 4 and 5, join Franklin Park Zoo as they kick off a New Year of fun and adventure! All kids will receive free admission, when accompanied by a paying adult, to Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo (this promotion does not include the event Zoolights at Stone Zoo).
 
It’s a wonderful opportunity to spend a memorable day with family and friends while discovering all of the incredible animals at each Zoo.

Be a Veterinarian | January 25

Saturday, January 4 between 11am and 3pm, children of all ages are welcomee to enjoy activities during "Be a Veterinarian" this weeks theme "the importance of healthy diets".
 
Children will meet a zoo new england care expert & learn about caring for animals at the zoo. Also bring a stuffed animal togive them a checkup! , story time, facts, and more!

Celebrate at the JFK Library | December 27

Friday, December 27 at 10:30am, the Stephen E. Smith Center at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will present  Mr. Punch’s Christmas Carol at the the Crabgrass Puppet Theatre. The beautifully crafted puppets will tell the tale of the man who hated Christmas and put profits before people. Outrageous holiday hilarity with ghosts, giggles, geese and Tiny Tim too!
