"Once on this Island" @ Strand Theatre Dec. 2

See a performance by students from Dorchester’s Boston Collegiate Charter School for the school’s rendition of the musical “Once on This Island.” Nearly 40 students from grades 5 through 12 will perform this touching play about grief and love. Through a grant, BCCS was able to raise the funds to perform on the historic Strand Theater’s main stage - which offers professional lighting, sound, and an altogether phenomenal venue for high school students.

 

Performances of "Once on This Island" at the Strand Theater are on Thursday, Dec. 1 and Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door, $12 in advance and can be purchased from the main offices of the school at 11 Mayhew St. or 215 Sydney St. For more information about the event, please call 617.265.1172. Health, Continuing Education and Summer Resource Fair, Apr. 13

Boston Collegiate Charter School will host a Health, Continuing Education and Summer Resource Fair in an effort to increase knowledge of the community resources available to families. The Fair will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Lower School Campus, 215 Sydney St., Dorchester, MA 02125.

BCCS is a tuition-free, city-wide public charter school in Dorchester, MA serving over 550 students in grades 5 through 12. Their college preparatory mission allows us to send 100% of graduating seniors to college each year.

The mission of Boston Collegiate Charter School is to prepare each student for college. We offer an academically rigorous college preparatory curriculum for students in grades five through twelve. 100% of our graduates have been accepted to college; over 80% of them will be the first in their families to attend.
