The 100th Tour de France is underway and it has been an exciting race so far! The final week in the Alps should be just as exciting. At 6am every Sunday morning, Ashmont Cycles is hosting a morning ride. The course is a 40-mile loop through Milton, Canton, breakfast stop in Stoughton, and return via Quincy. This Friday June 15 marks the 2nd Boston Bike Friday of the season, and DotBike is inviting all the bikers in Dorchester to meet up at 7AM in Peabody Square (on the plaza in front of Ashmont Cycles) or at 7:10AM in Fields Corner (intersection of Adams St. and Dot Ave) to ride together up Dot Ave and to City Hall Plaza where a festival/breakfast will mark the finish line. Join the Boston Police District C-11 for the Summer Safety Day & Bike Rodeo being held on June 9th from 10AM to 2PM at the McKeon Post Parking Lot / 4 Hilltop Street / Dorchester. Children ages 4 - 12 years and parents are welcome to join in on bike safety info, fun bike games and agility tests, as well as cool bike helmets (while supplies last) and FREE raffle for two 20" kids bikes! MassDOT will be hosting a public meeting on Morton Street's Future. The meeting will be held by MassDOT to discuss several aspects of Morton Street on the border of Mattapan and Dorchester. The meeting will be on November 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mildred Ave. School Auditorium. The meeting is set to discuss several aspects of Morton Street on the border of Mattapan and Dorchester. The agenda includes:
- Morton Street Bridge Replacement Project,
- Morton St. Roadway Safety Audit,
- Casey Overpass Planning Study
- MassDOT Job Training Opportunities
