Franklin Park Volunteer Day | April 6

Saturday, April 6th  10am-Noon

Come out and help save woodland trees from strangling catbrier and other invasive plants. Wear old clothing and sneakers/boots (Avoid wearing nylon because it will get stuck in the catbrier.) Family friendly for all ages. Groups welcome, but please let us know how many of you are coming.

Meet at 10am at Valley Gates Parking Lot, midway along the main park road.

Franklin Park Kite & Bike Festival | May 18

Join thousands of people in Franklin Park for the annual Kite & Bike Festival on Saturday, May 18th. Get outside for kite flying, free bike rentals for all ages, bike tours of the park, food trucks, vendors, face painting, and more!

Franklin Park Coalition Annual Meeting | April 11

Celebrate a great year for FPC at their annual meeting featuring Award Winning Boston Globe Journalist, Derrick Z. Jackson. Come early and mingle with fellow members and park lovers. Hear about upcoming events and projects. Light refreshments will be available.  Learn more about Derrick Z. Jackson on his staff webpage. Mr. Jackson previously wrote a feature on the trees in Franklin Park titled  ”The Return of the Trees”. He also writes articles that focus on youth, graduation rates for college athletes, the outdoors, and the environment.

Elma Lewis Playhouse Free Concert | July 10

Elma Lewis Playhouse concerts will take place every Tuesday evening at 6pm from July 10th – 31st at Franklin Park in Dorchester (1 Franklin Park Rd
Dorchester, MA 02121). Look for signs along the main park road directing you to Playhouse parking; take the #16 bus from the Orange Line / Forest Hills stop or the Red Line / JFK stop; or walk in and enjoy the park on the way. Boston Kite & Bike Festival

Join thousands of people in Boston’s backyard - Franklin Park - to celebrate the arrival of spring! Kites will be available for purchase. Boston Bikes will have free bike 'rentals' and helmuts for all size riders so you can explore the park on wheels or join a guided tour. Franklin Park Winter Festival Feb. 4

The Franklin Park Coalition will be hosting a Winter Snow Festival on Saturday, February 4th! The festival will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sign in at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse, 1 Circuit Drive, Dorchester, MA and spend the afternoon sledding, snowshoeing, building snowpeople, and tracking animal prints in the snow! Do you have cross country skis? A guided tour via skis will begin at 1:30. When the snow gets to be chilly, warm up with hot chocolate and games in the clubhouse! Franklin Park New Year's Day Walk Jan. 1

The Franklin Park Coalition invites you to their annual New Year's Day Walk! Bring in the new year with a brisk walk through Franklin Park and start the year right. The walk will be on Sunday, January 1st, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Meet at the Golf Clubhouse, 1 Circuit Drive in Dorchester. Dress for the weather - the walk will happen on a paved and plowed path, no matter the weather! To RSVP, click here.

Rake Leaves at Franklin Park Nov. 19

Join Franklin Park neighbors and volunteers on a crisp fall day to rake leaves and spruce the park up just before winter! Feel free to bring your favorite gloves or an extra rake. Halloween Night Prowl Oct. 28

Have a spooky night at Franklin Park! On Friday, October 28th, Franklin Park will be hosting its annual Halloween Night Prowl. See the beautiful landscape the park in darkness, and watch things get a little frightening at night. No flashlights allowed! Only the light of the moon will guide you as you search for a jack-o-lantern. Meet at Valley Gates Parking Lot, and make sure to RSVP - space is limited.
