Franklin Park Turkey Trot 5K | Nov 28

Run or walk the beautiful paths of the "jewel" of the Emerald Necklace to start your Thanksgiving Day! The scenic 3.1 mile route includes Franklin Park's most beautiful and historic views. Great Prizes for fast finishes and costumes!
Registration is $25 for adults, and $10 for children 6-18.

This event supports FPC's amazing Youth Conservation Crew. This program provides summer jobs for 20 neighborhood teens and their young adult leaders. This inspiring crew has restored trails, restored woodlands, and also runs the Thursday Sports Night, providing fun and games for hundreds of local children.

Planting Daffodils in Franklin Park | November 2

Saturday, November 2 10am -1pm at the Valley Gates Parking Lot in Franklin Park. The Franklin Park Coalition will be planting daffodils, pulling invasive trees and cleaning up the park to keep it safe and healthy. College students and community neighbors are encouraged to come out and volunteer in the beautiful fall weather. All ages can help.

Parks and Open Space At-Large City Councilor Forum | October 15

Join Boston Park Advocates Tuesday October 15 at 7pm,to learn about the at-large city council candidates’ ideas for budgeting, maintaining, and influencing improvements for Boston Parks. Open space is vital to the fabric of our diverse neighborhoods and cannot be overlooked. 
 
There will be a reception from 7-7:30pm with dessert and coffee.

Franklin Park Volunteer Day | April 6

Saturday, April 6th  10am-Noon

Come out and help save woodland trees from strangling catbrier and other invasive plants. Wear old clothing and sneakers/boots (Avoid wearing nylon because it will get stuck in the catbrier.) Family friendly for all ages. Groups welcome, but please let us know how many of you are coming.

Meet at 10am at Valley Gates Parking Lot, midway along the main park road.

Franklin Park Kite & Bike Festival | May 18

Join thousands of people in Franklin Park for the annual Kite & Bike Festival on Saturday, May 18th. Get outside for kite flying, free bike rentals for all ages, bike tours of the park, food trucks, vendors, face painting, and more!

Franklin Park Coalition Annual Meeting | April 11

Celebrate a great year for FPC at their annual meeting featuring Award Winning Boston Globe Journalist, Derrick Z. Jackson. Come early and mingle with fellow members and park lovers. Hear about upcoming events and projects. Light refreshments will be available.  Learn more about Derrick Z. Jackson on his staff webpage. Mr. Jackson previously wrote a feature on the trees in Franklin Park titled  ”The Return of the Trees”. He also writes articles that focus on youth, graduation rates for college athletes, the outdoors, and the environment.

Elma Lewis Playhouse Free Concert | July 10

Elma Lewis Playhouse concerts will take place every Tuesday evening at 6pm from July 10th – 31st at Franklin Park in Dorchester (1 Franklin Park Rd

Boston Kite & Bike Festival

Join thousands of people in Boston’s backyard - Franklin Park - to celebrate the arrival of spring! Kites will be available for purchase. Boston Bikes will have free bike 'rentals' and helmuts for all size riders so you can explore the park on wheels or join a guided tour.
