Chuck Berry and Leonard Cohen @ JFK Library! Feb. 26

On Sunday, February 26, PEN New England and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will host the 2012 Awards for Song Lyrics of Literary Excellence, which will be presented to Chuck Berry and Leonard Cohen. Awards Committee: Bono, Rosanne Cash, Elvis Costello, Paul Muldoon, Salman Rushdie and Paul Simon. 50th Anniversary of the White House Tour Feb. 15

On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, the John F. Kennedy Library will be hosting a forum in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the White House Tour with Jacqueline Kennedy. Join the JFK Library for a screening and discussion of Mrs. Kennedy's famous televised tour of the White House with current White House curator William Allman. This forum is happening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Stephen Smith Hall at the JFK Library, Dorchester. All forums are free and open to the public. The Literary Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Jan. 23

On January 23, a John F. Kennedy Library Forum, The Literary Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Colleagues and writers will speak at the event, including Joe Armstrong, Betty Sue Flowers, Harriet Rubin, and David Stenn. These figures will share their memories of working with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis during her time as an editor in New York City. Greg Lawrence, author of Jackie as Editor, will moderate. The John F. Assessing Obama's Presidency @ JFK Library Jan. 15

Jonathan Alter, author of The Promise: President Obama, Year One, and Hendrik Hertzberg, columnist for The New Yorker, will participate in a discussion at a John F. Kennedy Library Forum, Assessing Obama's Presidency. Alter and Hertzberg will analyze the Obama presidency as the 2012 presidential race begins with former Boston Globe Editorial Page Editor Renee Loth. In the January 25th John F. Kennedy Library Forum, Jim Lehrer, former host of PBS Newshour, will be discussing his book, Tension City: Inside the Presidential Debates, from Kennedy-Nixon to Obama-McCain, with PBS Newshour senior correspondent Ray Suarez. The History of Tap @ JFK Library Jan. 16

Cambridge Youth Dance Program and Boston Tap Company will be presenting "The History of Tap: Moments in Time" on January 16, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The program will explore the history, rhythm, and multicultural expression of tap, a dance that transcends time and cultures. Amanda Smith Forum @ JFK Library Dec. 12

Amanda Smith, the daughter of Jean Kennedy Smith, will be discussing her recent biography, Newspaper Titan: The Infamous Life and Monumental Times of Cissy Patterson. The forum will be held on December 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cissy Patterson, at one point considered the most powerful woman in America, was the first woman to head a major daily newspaper, the now defunct Washington Times-Herald in Washington, D.C. John F. Kennedy Library Hemingway Forum Dec. 11

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will be hosting a discussion of The Letters of Ernest Hemingway: Volume 1, 1907 - 1922 with Sandy Spanier, the book's editor, and novelist Ward Just. Scott Simon, host of NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday, will moderate. Corey Stoll, the actor who played Hemingway in recent film Midnight in Paris, will read from the book. A free screening of Midnight in Paris will be shown following the forum!

Ernest Hemingway and the Sea 10/12

Paul Hendrickson will be discussing his new biography of Ernest Hemingway. The book highlights Hemingway's relationship to the sea and his beloved boat, Pilar.
