The Strand Theatre presents Spring Fling, a cornucopia of young musical talent and a celebration of the community that nurtures it. The performance will feature symphonic works rendered by orchestras of 2nd-6th graders, as well as showcases of the students' learning expeditions. Nutcracker Ballet | Dec. 14

The Boston Dance Company will perform the "Nutcracker" ballet at the Strand Theatre (543 Columbia Rd in Dorchester) on December 14. The performance will begin at 10am. This is the 20th season of the Boston Dance Company's annual production! This performance is enjoyable for the whole family and remember - full of magic, a growing Christmas tree, a sword-fight, snowing onstage, and spectacular dancing! The cast includes 20 professional dancers, 10 company apprentices, and 50 local children. Tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for seniors/children. Tickets can be purchased at www.bostondancecompany.net or at the door.

The Strand Theatre is hosting Dr. Shakti Butler's "Cracking The Codes: The System of Racial Inequity" on October 23 at 6:30pm. The Strand Theatre and non-profits like  Diva's Working It Out and Youth In Crisis are hosting an event on health and wellness. The event will teach about healthier eating habits and exercise! Even the founder of DWIO turned her life around by losing 85 pounds! The event will go from 7pm to 11pm. The Strand Theatre is located at (543 Columbia Rd, Boston, MA 02125).
