28th Annual Bikes Not Bombs Bike-A-Thon | June 5

Registration for the 29th Annual Bike-A-Thon is now open!  Join  Bikes Not Bombs to ride 10, 30, 50 or 80 miles on the bike ride for social change. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome to ride.  Join with your friends to create a team and you could win a prize for teams that go above and beyond! The rider after-party will be at the Stony Brook Park from noon – 5:30pm and features live music, hill slides, face painting and delicious food!

Charles Yancey 30th Annual Book Fair | March 5

Former Boston City Councillor Charles C. Yancey and his wife, Marzetta, will host the 30th Annual Charles C. Yancey Book Fair “Celebrating 30 Years of Literacy”. The Yancey’s have distributed over 675,000 books to over 30,000 families in the City of Boston since establishing the book fair in 1987. Their mission is to encourage love of reading among Boston youth.

Events during this year’s Yancey Book Fair include free books, refreshments, guest speakers, resource tables, and musical entertainment.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day | Oct 24

Residents may bring up to 50 pounds of products labeled toxic, flammable, reactive, corrosive, or poisonous, such as: oil-based paint, motor oil, pesticides, solvents, glues, bleach or ammonia-based cleaners, weed killers, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, tires, propane tanks, car batteries, and used motor oil. Materials will be safely disposed of free of charge. No Latex/Acrylic paint allowed (it's not hazardous).  

*Paper shredding will be offered on this day by the City Of Boston Credit Union*
