Oldways- Cooking Instructor | April 4, 2018

Oldways is looking for volunteers to teach their six-week A Taste of African Heritage cooking and nutrition curriculum to community members in the Boston metropolitan area. Teaching an entire class series requires about 15-16 hours of time over the course of the series (roughly six, 2-hour class sessions, plus clean up, set up, and possibly some grocery shopping). Oldways will provide training and teacher certification, so prior teaching experience is not required. However, being comfortable in the kitchen and passionate for nutrition, healthy eating, plant-based foods, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning about African diaspora foods are important!
Location: Varies, but one permanent location is the Teaching Kitchen located at 450 Washington St. Dorchester 02124
Hours: 3-4 hrs per week
Requirements: Strong interest and passion for cooking (a professional culinary degree is NOT required)
Qualifications: Able to stand 4 hours, comfortable presenting and cooking in front of others, fast learner
