The DotWell Volunteer Program is ALWAYS looking for volunteers, and always coming up with new ways for volunteers to get involved in their community. Do you have an opportunity that needs volunteers? Help Revamp Dorchester Historical Society Headquarters

Like a good project? Use some muscle sanding, scraping, washing, priming, and painting the woodwork and windows in one of the rooms at the Dorchester Historical Society headquarters building.

DIY Veterans and (careful) novice painters alike are encouraged to volunteer. This project will run the following Saturdays-- March 6, 13, 20, & 27-- from 9am-2pm. Volunteers will report to 195 Boston Street Dorchester, MA 02125.

Read with Students at the Lee

Share enchanting stories and your love of reading with the children at the Lee School. Volunteers read and discuss new books with individual children or with small groups. The time commitment is up to you; volunteer for an hour, a morning, or as much as you want a week.

Codman Square Health Center

Learn current medical software and sharpen your communication skills by confirmimg patients' appointments and processing referrals to physicians and medical centers.

Global Youth Service Day in Greater Boston, Apr 23-25

Global Youth Service Day is an annual celebration of youth from over 120 different countries who are volunteering in their communities. This year it will be on the weekend of April 23, 2010 - April 25, 2010. By participating in this project, you will be joining millions of youth everywhere for the world's largest annual day of youth service!

Volunteer Opportunities at HealthWorks

Healthworks at Codman is not-for-profit health and fitness facility created to serve women and children in the Dorchester and surrounding community. Healthworks at Codman is designed to provide a full-spectrum of fitness and wellness services at affordable rates to help women and children improve their health and reach their fitness goals. Currently short-staffed, volunteers would be greatly appreciated to help us operate our facility and provide a much needed service to our community!

Volunteer Opportunities include:

Wellness Coach – acts as a fitness mentor; provides a basic fitness assessment for new members and teaches them how to safely use our equipment; develops a professional and personable relationship with a member; and connects member with appropriate resources (no certification necessary but a background/interest in health and fitness preferred). >>Read More

WORK Inc Volunteer Opportunities

Work Inc is a nationally recognized pioneer in developing community-based programs for people with disabilities. Since 1965, WORK Inc has provided education, employment and training, and residential programs, to people with developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical challenges and Deafness. WORK Inc currently serves over 1,000 people with disabilities.

To continue providing excellent care to the individuals through WORK Inc programming, WORK Inc needs your help in the following volunteer positions:

Strides Day Habilitation program.
Strides is a dynamic and progressive day program funded by the Massachusetts Department of Medical Assistance that provides quality services for a diverse group of adults with disabilities. Volunteers are needed to teach simple activities to the individuals in the Strides Day Habilitation program. Example activities include crochet, scrap booking, choir, and other arts and craft activities.

Administrative Help
WORK Inc needs an administrative assistant to greet visitors to the building and connect them to the employees and programs in the building. Gain valuable administrative skills while providing a much needed service to WORK Inc.
