The Generation Next Academy, formerly the DotWell Teen Center, is a place where youth can gain the necessary skills to prepare for the future. The program is designed to foster growth amongst all of its participants through education, exploration and hands-on experience through activities in the following areas:

Academic Achievement Self-Care
o Homework Help:
Monday to Friday, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
o Behavioral Health Services
o Educational Workshops o Health Education
o Academic and College Preparation Support:
Monday to Thursday, drop-in between 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Friday by appointment only.
o Life Skills
Workforce Development Leadership
o Employment Opportunities o Community Service Learning
o Professional Development Training o Civic Engagement
o Networking Opportunities o Dorchester Youth Council: Tuesdays
(except the 1st of the month), 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
o Career Preparation Support:
Monday to Thursday, drop-in between 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Friday by appointment only.
Money Management
o Financial Education Workshops

How to join:

Just stop by during regular hours and pick up an application! Applications must be signed by a guardian (for those under 18) and returned by the second visit.

How to Find the GNA Teen Center:

The GNA is located at the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center on 1353 Dorchester Ave (click here for directions). If facing the main entrance, walk towards the left side of the building and enter through the back. The teen center is down the stairs on the left just before the gym.

Days: Monday to Friday—except BPS holidays or snow days

Hours: 2:00 - 6:00 p.m., except the first Tuesday of the month when the GNA closes at 5:00 p.m.

F(r)ee: No fees here! The Generation Next Academy is a free afterschool program for youth ages 13 to 18.
