An Evening with the American Songbook: Works by Gershwin, Berlin, Porter, and Ellington, Oct. 16

St. Mary's Episcopal Church on the hill is pleased to announce the first concert of the season: Nancy Armstrong singing American standards by Gershwin, Porter, Arlen, and Berlin. The event, a St. Mary’s building fund benefit, is free, but donations are encouraged, and will go towards maintaining the beautiful historic structure.

Nancy Armstrong’s luminous performances extend across the musical spectrum from early Renaissance to American musical theater. She has been lavishly praised in the Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, and The New Yorker. Miss Armstrong has been Adjunct Associate Professor of the Practice for the Brandeis University Theatre Arts Graduate Program since 1996. She also maintains a large private voice studio at her home in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Musical direction and accompaniment by F. Wade Russo.
