"The Doctor Will See you NOW!": Dorchester House Groundbreaking, Oct. 26

Dorchester House, one of two health centers parent to DotWell and MyDorchester, will hold a "groundbreaking" event to celebrate the start of its expansion. The construction project, titled "The Doctor Will See you NOW!", will commence Tuesday, October 26th at 11:30am. Mayor Menino will be in attendance, and members of the community are invited to attend! Light refreshments will be served after the event. Please RSVP by emailing Patrick Ziemnik.

Quietly providing some of the best health care to underserved populations in Boston since 1970, Dorchester House is taking a major step toward our vision of equitable, accessible, and high quality patient-centered care for all. The 20% increase in capacity resulting from The NOW! Project will allow DH to provide access to 6,600 more patients per year, and also build a Wellness Center for services such as yoga and exercise classes.

This $11 million project is vital to our effort to meet the complex and growing health needs of our community. Dorchester House is proud to have been awarded $7 million in stimulus funds toward it, but this still leaves them with $4 million to raise.
