VampiresEscape the heat of summer with the chills of the Undead! The Adams Street Branch Library (690 Adams St., Dorchester, MA 02122) will hold an afternoon Vampire movie series. Films will be shown at 2 p.m. every Monday from August 1 to September 26 and free popcorn will accompany each screening. Check out the attached schedule below. For questions, call 617-436-6900.

***In order to accomodate the library summer reading programs, all of the vampire movies that were going to be played in July will now be played in September.

Monday August 15, 2011 Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992, 128 min.) with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder. Francis Ford Coppola directed this lush version of the tale.

Monday August 22, 2011 Dracula’s Daughter (1936, 71 min.) with Gloria Holden Professor Van Helsing is in danger of being prosecuted for the murder of Count Dracula…until a mysterious woman shows up, along with bloodless corpses.

Monday August 29, 2011 Dracula (1974, 100 min.) with Jack Palance.
Filmed in England and Yugoslavia, this is a award-winning version of the tale.

Monday September 12, 2011 Dracula (1979, 109 min.) with Frank Langella & Laurence Olivier Another version of the classic.

Monday September 19, 2011 Van Helsing (2004, 131 min.) with Hugh Jackman & Kate Beckinsale. The famed professor is sent to Transylvania to rid the world of vampires.
