Massachusetts Seal Redistricting is coming to your community! Redistricting is the process of redrawing the districts that public officials, including Congress, state Senate, state House of Representatives, and Governor's Council are elected from and represent. It is required by the state constitution to be conducted every ten years. A Dorchester meeting will take place on May 14, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Joseph Lee Elementary School, 155 Talbot Avenue, Dorchester Ctr, MA 02124-2904. Why participate? Redistricting determines who will represent you and affects election outcomes. Fair redistricting will give your community a voice and access to the political process.
