Summer Solstice Garden Tour, Jun. 18
Bring in the Solstice by exploring Dorchester's lovely flora. Dorchester Park Association's "hidden garden" tour on Saturday, June 18, 4 to 6 p.m., will include stops at private residences and some local commercial sites, followed by a reception and gardening demonstration at Cedar Grove Gardens. Proceeds will go to the Dorchester Park operating fund, which is used to purchase trees and other plant materials for the park, for educational programs, and to support clean-ups. Tickets, $50, are limited: go to www.dotpark.org to purchase. Want to help with the event? Contact Claire Hughes at claire.a.hughes@gmail.com.
The tour begins at 4 p.m. from Cedar Grove Gardens on the corner of Adams and Milton Streets where a trolley and self guided walking maps will be available. Tour eight or more beautifully designed gardens near Dorchester Park by trolley or at your own pace!
The event will conclude with a stroll through the greenhouses and around the reflection pond at Cedar Grove Cemetery followed by wine and hors d'oeuvres at Cedar Grove Gardens.
