National Urban League Conference, Jul. 27 to Jul. 30

National Urban LeagueCodman Square Health Center is proud to be a part of the Civic Engagement Committee for this year’s National Urban League Conference in Boston (July 27-30). "During one critical and dynamic week in July, Boston will make history," said Darnell Williams, President and CEO, Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts. "For the first time in 35 years, the National Urban League Conference will provide Boston with a platform to show the country that we are a friendly and culturally diverse city that appreciates the strengths and benefits of an inclusive society. Pics in the Park Photography Workshops & Exhibit

"Together with Haiti" Community Event, Jul. 29

Still HarborStill Harbor will hold "Together with Haiti: An evening of community inspiration and sharing" on July 29, 2011. The organization, an affiliate of Partners in Health, seeks to cultivate thriving Haitian communities here in Boston and throughout Haiti. The event, a reception to gather, listen, and share stories, will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 666 Dorchester Avenue, South Boston, MA. If you are moved, bring your own words. Come with a story, poem, image, or inspiration about Haiti to share with the community - or simply with open ears and open mind.
