Maureen Feeney Pre-Thanksgiving Breakfast & YALA, Nov. 21

The Maureen Feeney Committee will announce the recipients of the Young Adult Leadership Awards at the annual pre-Thanksgiving Breakfast, on Sunday, November 21st at Florian Hall. The awards are two $500 scholarships presented each to a young man and young woman between the ages of 14-21, whose accomplishments and contributions through civic, school, religious or personal activities in the Dorchester community have been outstanding.

There will be live music, and fun activities and face-painting for the kids. Free for seniors and children. $25 suggested donation for all other guests. Proceeds to benefit Maureen Feeney Youth Fund. All are encouraged to attend. Location info after the break. >> Read More

Sunday at Three Concert Series Presents Pianist Ana Sorina Popa, Nov. 21

The third concert of the 2010-2011 Sunday at Three Concert Series will feature pianist Ana Sorina Popa! The pianist, also organist and choir director at First Parish Church, will perform works of L. V. Beethoven and R. Schumann, illustrated by Sonata op. 10 no. 3 and Kreisleriana, Op. 16, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Schumann's birth. Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative: Funds for Youth, Neighborhood Builders, Local Heroes

Bank of America's Neighborhood Excellence Initiative has applications open for several of its philanthropic grants and paid youth positions. The NEI recognizes, nurtures, and rewards community-based organizations, local heroes and student leaders working to improve their communities. They focus on areas such as: education, community development/neighborhood preservation, arts and culture, and health and human services.

Aware for All: National Clinical Research Education Day, Nov. 6
