Write on the DOT Reading & Anniversary Celebration | May 6

Celebrating 1-year of readings by Dorchester and UMass Boston creative writers...

Join us Sunday, May 6th for WRITE ON THE DOT at Savin Bar & Kitchen (across from the Savin Hill T station)

- reception starts at 5:30PM with an exclusive specials menu (incl. "author's ale," "The Hemingway," and $5 appetizers)

- reading starts at 6PM featuring poets Willie Pleasants and Liam Day of Dorchester alongside fiction writers Alexandra Sladky and Eric Maxson of UMass Boston.

Write on the DOT is a reading series coordinated by UMass Boston MFA students to support and promote local writing. We bring Dorchester writers and neighbors together to share creative work in our community.

Come to Savin Bar & Kitchen on Sunday*, January 29th at 7PM for

WRITE ON THE DOT

featuring poetry and prose from UMass Boston MFA candidates Karen Locascio, Kathleen McKenna, and Jon Papas alongside Dorchester writers Johnny Diaz and Audrey Mardavich.

The event will be in the private downstairs space at Savin Bar & Kitchen, 112 Savin Hill Ave., from 7-8:30 PM with food and drink specials exclusive to Write on the DOT. Stick around after the reading and socialize! Write on the DOT was designed to bring neighbors and writers together, from Dorchester and UMass Boston alike. Everyone is invited!

Write on the DOT Reading Series, Sep. 5

Neighbors, get to know your writers; writers, get to know your neighbors. The 2nd Write on the DOT reading features an outstanding lineup of Dorchester writers presented by students in UMass-Boston's Creative Writing MFA Program sharing pieces in poetry and fiction. Readers includey Danielle Fontaine, Nathaniel Forsythe, Calvin Hennick, Sandra Kohler, Mitch Manning, and U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo. Locals, get to know your writers. Writers, get to know your locals. Join your fellow literary aficionados on Tuesday, May 3rd at the first "Write on the DOT" reading of poetry and fiction by UMass Boston Creative Writing MFA students and local Dorchester writers. The reading kicks off at 7 p.m. at The Blarney Stone Bar/Restaurant in Fields Corner (1505 Dorchester Ave., 1 block from the Fields Corner T Stop on the Ashmont Red Line). Come raise a glass and join your neighbors as our readers unfurl beauty and darkness, ideas and inspiration. Tuesday's readers are: Rad Thie, Kurt Klopmeier, Andra Hibbert, Betsy Gomez, Zachary Bos, and Mark Rotondi.
