Community Clean-Up, Aug. 13

CleanupFriends of Codman Square Library and other partners have planned a community-wide clean-up for Codman Square Library grounds with volunteers to help. The community clean-up is planned on August 13th at 8:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m at the codman Square Library. If you have left over mulch, flowers, gloves, and/or items as it relates to the up keep for the Codman Square Library, we will accept them. For more information call 617-436-1591.

Canoe the Neponset from Lower Mills, Aug. 14

CanoeEnjoy a Sunday morning canoe adventure with Boston Natural Areas Network and the MA Department of Conservation & Recreation on Sunday, August 14th at 11:00 a.m. This Neponset River paddle that ventures up to falls found at the base of the Baker Chocolate mills is limited to experienced paddlers who will meet at Milton Landing, off Wharf Street in Milton. Canoes and gear will be provided for this free event.

The FlagJohn O'Toole campaign is holding an event for friends and supporters of his Boston City Council run. Join them for an evening of Irish Entertainment on Sunday, August 7 at Florian Hall. Healthy Girls, Healthy Women Fun Run Celebration and Skate Night, Aug. 25

HealthCome and join the youths and girls of Healthy Girls, Healthy Women in celebrating the work they have done around empowering girls in Boston to live healthier lives and become leaders. This event will take place on Thursday August 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Orchard Gardens Community Center (2 Dearborn Street, Roxbury MA). There will be FREE food, FREE pairs of Saucony running shoes, FREE music, and FREE skating. Come with your friends and families.

The Boston Public Health Commission will host a School Book Bag Giveaway & Resource Fair at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, 650 Dudley Street in Dorchester from 4:30 to 7 p.m.!
