Board GamesEnjoy playing board games with friends and family? The Codman Square Library is hosting a game day. Plenty of board games will be available to chose from. Anyone from young children to seniors are welcome to join! This game day will take place at Codman Square Library (690 Washington Street, Dorchester) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Midsummer Story Nights, Jun. 22

StoryJoin the fun at the Adams Street Library for bed-time stories! Includes songs and crafts and don't forget your pyjamas! Children ages 3-6 are invited. (must be accompanied by an adult) Stories will be on June 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Adams Street Library (690 Adams Street, Dorchester).

Yoga at the Library, Jun. 21

YogaThe Fields Corner Branch Library (1520 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, 02122) is hosting a free yoga class on June 21 at 6:30 p.m. Adults ages 18+ are welcome to join. The class will be taught by Integral Yoga Instructor, Alicia Zipp. Beginners are welcome.

Food in the Hood Meeting, Jun. 22

Farmers MarketTired of the food options available in your Bowdoin/Geneva neighborhood? Do you travel outside of the neighborhood to buy better quality and/or affordable food? Are you interested in farmers' markets, community supported agriculture, community gardens, etc.?

Come to the Food in the 'Hood meeting June 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bowdoin Street Health Center, 230 Bowdoin Street. Dorchester Substance Abuse Coalition Quarterly Meeting, Jun. 21

DSACThe DSAC is having a quarterly meeting on June 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting takes place at Leahy Holloran Community Center, 1 Worrel St, Dorchester. Centered on the theme "Weeding out the Facts," the meeting will feature a talk from Marilyn G. Escape the heat of summer with the chills of the Undead! Aug. 15

VampiresEscape the heat of summer with the chills of the Undead! The Adams Street Branch Library (690 Adams St., Dorchester, MA 02122) will hold an afternoon Vampire movie series. City approves several Dorchester-based projects

Codman Square Health CenterFrom Boston.com's YourTown: Dorchester projects finally won approval from the Boston Redevelopment Authority's board on June 17. The projects include a health and education center, affordable housing and more. One of the biggest projects is a health and education center between the Codman Square Health Center and the Codman Academy Public Charter School. This project includes a 34,000 square foot addition. Last year, the project received a $7.95 million federal grant. Another big project in Quincy Heights includes 129 public housing units in Grove Hall. Nine apartment buildings will be renovated and 80 new units will be installed. On top of that, 11 new buildings will be built, adding 49 new units. The project will cost about $53.1 million and will be 156,817 square feet. Another project, the Columbia Point Master Plan, was approved after three years of public review. DisabledThe Friendship Social Event is an event where all are invited including friends and neighbors with cerebral palsy and other disabilities as well as anyone who would like to make a new friend.
