First Parish Church Annual Square Dance | April 28

Want to show off your square dancing skills? Want to just learn how? First Parish Church will be holding their Annual Square Dance on April 28, 2012 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Dancers of all ages and experience will be joining together under the guidance of New England Dance Caller, Tony Parkes! This event is for dancers of all ages. A great deal for those Dorchestrians who want to hook up with a bicycle short-term downtown, or in other Boston neighborhoods like Somerville. (Maybe if enough folks sign up it will convince the powers-that-be to expand Hubway into Dorchester.) Eligible residents pay only $5 for an annual membership and receive a free helmet.

Boston Compost Visioning Meeting @ BNC March 29

Boston Nature Center will be hosting a Boston Compost Visioning Meeting on Thursday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m. Come together with others interested in working together to improve and expand composting in the City of Boston. Explore the history of composting in Boston, the status of current Boston leaf composting program, which will involve a viewing or tour of the site. Annual Spring Neponset Cycle | March 18th

On Sunday, March 18, at 10:00 a.m. join in the Annual Spring Neponset Cycle! The ride will commence at the concession stand at Fort Independence/Castle Island, and Day Blvd. in South Boston. Usher out winter and welcome spring by riding the entire Neponset Greenway, end to end, exploring the present and future paths. A 13-mile flat ride (one way) both on-road and on paths. You cannot ride without a helmet! Pre-registration is recommended - do so by contacting info@bostonnatural.org.

Ayiti Cherie March 24

Mayor Thomas M. Menino will be hosting a special event on March 24, 2012 at 4:30 p.m., “Ayiti Chérie - from Boston to Haiti: The work continues...”. This event will provide an opportunity to recognize the great work that was done to support Haiti and Boston's Haitian residents following the tragic earthquake of 2010, as well as the work that continues in the City of Boston! On Sunday, April 15, The Point Event Committee and Codman Square Neighborhood Council will be presenting An Urban Photography Exhibit and Backdrop Showcase Event!
